Nico Rosberg studied 2014 Bahrain GP F1 defeat to Lewis Hamilton

Nico Rosberg has tried to learn from his battle with Lewis Hamilton in last year's Bahrain Grand Prix by watching it again ahead of this weekend's Formula 1 race

The battle between the Mercedes team-mates in 2014 ignited in Bahrain last year, with Hamilton coming out on top after a feisty on-track scrap with Rosberg.

Rosberg was frustrated to lose out in that fight at a track that he believes suits him, and he said he has done all he can to put that right.

Bahrain GP 2014: How Hamilton won Rosberg's race

When asked if he has an advantage over Hamilton in Bahrain - where he scored points on his debut in 2006 and set fastest lap - Rosberg said: "Do I think so? Yes.

"But I also thought that at the last two races. I'm here to make it happen.

"I've looked at the videos again from last year because I need to improve in battle.

"There are things I could have done differently last year to win that race, so I'm looking at that and I hope to follow it up well."

Rosberg denied that he feels under more pressure to turn things around against Hamilton following his team-mate's strong start to the season, with the reigning champion taking two wins so far and leading the championship.

"It was already important [to turn things around] in Malaysia and that was two races ago," said Rosberg.

"It doesn't change. Every race is important. He's 17 points ahead, that's a fact.

"I need to try to get points back as soon as possible - it's not more important here or whatever."

CHAMPIONSHIP STANDINGS AFTER THREE RACES:

Pos Driver Points
1 Lewis Hamilton 68
2 Sebastian Vettel 55
3 Nico Rosberg 51

5 Kimi Raikkonen 24
