Nissan LMP1 driver Harry Tincknell gets Jota WEC seat for Spa
Nissan factory driver Harry Tincknell has been called up by the Jota Sport LMP2 squad to race in next month's Spa round of the World Endurance Championship
The Briton, who is competing in the European Le Mans Series with Jota, will race the squad's Gibson-Nissan 015S alongside regular team-mate Simon Dolan and GP2 driver and sportscar newcomer Mitch Evans.
Tincknell said: "I'm delighted to be called up for Spa and obviously have good memories after finishing second in my first race at world championship level last year.
"I also believe the new Gibson update will suit Spa very well."
The move follows Tincknell's return to Jota for the ELMS following the collapse of ex-Formula Renault 3.5 and GP3 racer Nick Yelloly's deal to join the team for the five-race series.
Tincknell's availability for both last weekend's ELMS opener at Silverstone and Spa has been made possible by the Nissan LMP1 squad's withdrawal from the opening two rounds of the WEC to focus on its Le Mans 24 Hours assault.
Jota have yet to announce who will partner Dolan and Evans for the Le Mans 24 Hours, a race which was on Yelloly's planned schedule with the team.
Jota has contested the Spa WEC round as preparation for Le Mans every year since joining the LMP2 division and won the P2 class first time out in 2012.
