Nick Cassidy joins T-Sport for Formula 3 European Championship
New Zealander Nick Cassidy is to contest the final two rounds of the Formula 3 European Championship with T-Sport
The Brackley-based team has added a third Dallara to its stable, and Cassidy will join T-Sport regulars Spike Goddard and Alexander Toril at Imola and Hockenheim.
Cassidy tested with T-Sport in the summer of 2013 at the Red Bull Ring, after the team had parted with company with Will Buller, and contested two Euro F3 rounds last year, one with EuroInternational and one with Carlin.
But the 20-year-old, who has claimed scalps including Daniil Kvyat, Alex Lynn and Raffaele Marciello in the NZ Toyota Racing Series, had to step back to contest the Formula Renault Eurocup this season due to budget constraints.
The Imola event provides the perfect entry point for Cassidy, as it is preceded by a two-day official test and he has already begun work with his new NBE-powered machine in the UK.
Team boss Russell Eacott said: "It's good to be able to give him a proper shot at F3, which should in turn help him to get his budget together for next year."
Cassidy added: "I'm going to get my head down, work hard with the team and hopefully we can achieve some creditable performances together."
