The field all completed two head-to-head laps of the course, with Volkswagen's World Rally Championship leader beating Citroen's Mads Ostberg by three seconds as the duo put themselves first and second overall after their run.
VW has three cars in the top five, as Andreas Mikkelsen and Jari-Matti Latvala were third and fifth quickest, split by M-Sport's Mikko Hirvonen.
Thierry Neuville was the fastest of the Hyundais in sixth, just ahead of his shakedown-pace-setting team-mate Dani Sordo.
