Barber IndyCar: Ryan Hunter-Reay stays on top in practice two

Ryan Hunter-Reay continues to set the early-weekend pace at Barber after topping the second practice session on the Alabama road course

The Andretti driver, who was also fastest this morning, moved to the top with a best lap of 1m08.7836s and his time held for the three minutes that still remained on the clock.

Sebastien Bourdais, who had been the previous benchmark, held on to second-fastest with a lap 0.1475 seconds down on Hunter-Reay's, leaving Penske's Will Power in third.

In contrast to the stoppage-laden session earlier in the day, the afternoon was interrupted just once to allow some debris to be removed from the area around Turn 14.

According to Bourdais, the lack of running time in the morning meant that changes were minimal between the sessions.

"The only real difference was that in the second session we were able to do more than one lap," said the Frenchman. "That was pretty much it."
