Valtteri Bottas keen to learn from 2014 F1 team-mate Felipe Massa

Valtteri Bottas expects to learn a lot from new Williams Formula 1 team-mate Felipe Massa in 2014

The Finn will line up alongside the veteran Ferrari driver next season but while he has no pre-conceptions about what he can learn from the Brazilian, he has no doubts that he will be able to draw on Massa's experience.

"It's difficult to say yet what I will be able to learn from him, but from every driver there can always be different things to pick up, whether it's something to do with the driving style or how they like to set up a car," said Bottas.

"He has seen a lot, he comes from Ferrari and maybe there are things that they do a bit differently there so maybe you can pick up something.

"I will definitely keep an eye out and if there's something to learn, I will take it."

Can Massa thrive at Williams?

Bottas plans to pay close attention even when not driving during pre-season testing in the hope of learning as much as he can about the new cars and Massa's way of working.

He is set to split the 12 pre-season days 50/50 with Massa, but plans to attend on the days when he is not running as well.

"I'm pretty sure I will be at all the tests whether I'm driving or not," he said. "I will be there listening.

"At the beginning of the season it will be very important for me to be there and see if there are some issues with the car, how it handles and how to solve the problems.

"It will be interesting to be there and to be part of it and learn. I will be following these tests as well."
