Thierry Neuville poised for Hyundai WRC move for 2014

Thierry Neuville will switch to Hyundai's new World Rally Championship team from 2014, according to AUTOSPORT sources

Both Neuville, who currently drives a Ford for M-Sport, and Hyundai have denied a deal is done, but AUTOSPORT understands agreement was reached some time ago.

Hyundai team manager Alain Penasse admitted Neuville was one of many drivers to have visited the team's Alzenau base.

Countdown to liftoff for Hyundai's new WRC

"He holds the key [to the market]," said Penasse, "but we don't know when he will start the engine.

"We are all waiting on Thierry. We are talking to the majority of the others [apart from VW drivers].

"Everybody is well placed on the list and it's good to have the chance to analyse the drivers over these rallies, but it would be nice to make some decisions soon.

"We would like to make an announcement regarding the drivers in October."

Neuville has been the revelation of the 2013 WRC season. He joined M-Sport after losing his Citroen Junior drive and has outperformed team-mates Mads Ostberg and Evgeny Novikov, and battled for victory at several events.

The Belgian has been offered a three-year contract extension by M-Sport and an invitation to return to Citroen.

"At the moment, nothing is sorted," Neuville insisted.

"There is a lot of talking still, but no decisions made."
