The Red Bull domination carried forward into qualifying and the gap to the rest is well over one second. It will be interesting to see if the two RB6s really pull away from the field at over one second per lap in the early stages of the race, or if Ferrari can present a stornger race pace.
Ferrari also has the opportunity to pull in the points gap to championship leader McLaren, but would liked to have been much closer to the speed of the Red Bull Renault.
Vitaly Petrov starts in a wonderful seventh place and tomorrow he will chase after the best teams in the sport, so despite the lack of surprise there is still a good deal to look forward to tomorrow.

So Kubica winds up eighth on the grid with de la Rosa a creditable ninth and Hulkenberg rounding out the top 10.
Rosberg was sixth with Petrov seventh. The Russian out-qualifies Kubica for the first time this season.
Massa makes it two Ferraris in the top four and Hamilton again made a remarkable effort - just one-tenth slower than the Brazilian.
So Vettel has another pole as Red Bull locks out the front row of the grid by 1.214s. Alonso is the best of the rest in third.
An anti-climax as Webber struggled on his final effort to hand pole to Vettel after such a great battle throughout the weekend.
Webber does not improve and Vettel cannot be challenged. Vettel does not improve either but has claimed pole for the Hungarian Grand Prix!
Rosberg can't topple the McLaren, while Petrov grabs seventh and Kubica is a disappointing eighth.
Hamilton fails to beat Massa.
Here comes Webber ... and he has lost time in the second sector. It will be close but looking tough for the Aussie now ...
Massa cements his fourth place, can Hamilton respond to that?
10 min: The flag is out but the laps continue ...
10 min: 28.8s for Webber in the first sector - the fastest of all!
9 min: Petrov only takes eighth after a mistake, while a scrappy lap leaves Kubica tenth. Both need a good second lap.
9 min: Webber starts his make-or-break lap ... one shot to beat his team-mate.
9 min: Vettel is the last man out and the destination of the pole will rest on his drive for the line - unless Webber doesn't beat 1m18.773s on the lap he is about to start.
9 min: Petrov is attacking boldly on his run in the Renault.
8 min: Kubica has made a big mistake in Turn 2 and this single run could cost the Renault challenge.
8 min: Alonso, Massa and Hamilton pile out of the pits.
7 min: Webber is the first of the two drivers out onto the circuit.
7 min: The Red Bulls are back in the garage for a fresh set of super-soft boots. Can Webber turn the tables on the final run?
7 min: De la Rosa finally heads out for a run. The Renault pair are also rolling out for the first time.
6 min: Massa is fourth with Hamilton fifth, Rosberg sixth and Hulkenberg seventh.
6 min: Alonso finds himself 1.2 seconds down on Vettel's stunning pace as he is wheeled back into the Ferrari garage for fresh tyres.
6 min: So Vettel takes round one with a four-tenths gap over Webber. Alonso is a massive 1.2s back in third.
5 min: Vettel is now on his lap to try and beat his team-mate ... and he does it with 1m18.773s.
5 min: But is easily able to beat Alonso with a lap of 1m19.184s.
4 min: Webber is quick through both the first and second sectors. He makes a minor error in the penultimate corner ...
4 min: De la Rosa is also planning a single tour in his Sauber.
4 min: Petrov has gone back to the Renault pit and it looks like both of that team's drivers will only make one attempt.
4 min: Rosberg is fourth and Hulkenberg fifth so far, behind Alonso, Massa and Hamilton.
3 min: Hamilton clocks a 1m20.499s and is only thousandths off Massa's pace. That's a good lap from the McLaren driver.
3 min: Webber crosses the line to begin his first effort.
3 min: Massa slots in second quickest, almost half a second down on his team-mate.
3 min: Alonso starts the scramble with an impressive 1m19.987s.
3 min: Vettel comes out about one minute after Webber so the two cars are nicely spaced in this first round of laps.
2 min: Kubica is keeping his powder dry and remains in the Renault garage for now.
2 min: Webber is the first of the Red Bulls to roll out.
1 min: Rosberg and Hulkenberg are on the circuit to begin their assault in the shootout.
