Hartley improves to go 11th.

Street circuit racing is all about skimming the walls.
Yellow flag
Sirotkin has been straight on at Turn 3, having had a wobble on the brakes. He rejoins.
Information
Top 10 with six minutes to go: 1 Bottas, 2 Ricciardo, 3 Hamilton, 4 Ocon, 5 Verstappen, 6 Perez, 7 Alonso, 8 Sirotkin, 9 Vettel, 10 Stroll.
Edd Straw
Sirotkin often has to have a couple of bites on turn in to Turn 12, but he's usually able to carry reasonable speed through and onto the straight. It's still a car with some turn-in instability but it's looking better than it did.
Grosjean scuffs the wall on the exit of Turn 2, leaving a nice patch on the wall and on his tyre sidewall.
Radio Comms
Hamilton reports "the car won't turn left..."

Perez improves late on, he goes fifth behind Ocon.
Another lock-up for Grosjean, who has visible flat-spots on his front tyres and goes off at Turn 1.
Grosjean improved to 15th just before that latest lock-up.

Vettel heads back out, while we've not seen Raikkonen for a long time and his Ferrari is being taken apart on stands in the garage.

Checkered flag
And there's the chequered flag. Bottas just 0.035s faster than Ricciardo in FP1.
Latest of late improvements from Perez, who moves up to third in the Force India.
Grosjean also finds a bit more time to move up a place to 14th.
Radio Comms
Vandoorne is told to stay out and give Alonso a tow past the chequered flag. McLaren already making plans for qualifying.

That's a wrap for FP1. Bottas beat Ricciardo to the fastest time, but a crash for the second Red Bull of Verstappen and an unusual top 10 means the early order is far from clear. Join us again in a couple of hours for live coverage of FP2:

And we're back. Welcome to live coverage from FP2 for the Azerbaijan Grand Prix.
There's going to be a fair bit of attention on Ferrari in this session after a subdued FP1. The drivers were unhappy with the rear grip levels in particular, and Raikkonen's session ended early in the garage. We don't normally see the red cars a couple of seconds off the pace, so FP2 should give us a more accurate idea of where Ferrari stands in Baku.
