Alain Menu leads World Touring Car practice two in Slovakia for Chevrolet

Chevrolet's Alain Menu topped the timesheets in World Touring Car free practice two at the Slovakia Ring

The Swiss racer, who is chasing a 24-point deficit to team-mate Yvan Muller in the drivers' standings, recorded a fastest time of 2m13.837s. Reigning world champion Muller finished 0.477 seconds behind Menu in second position.

Chevrolet's third world title chasing driver Rob Huff took seventh in the final practice session prior to qualifying, and reckons the circuit will remain low-grip all weekend.

"The circuit is very Brno-esque, which is nice, although I am not particularly confident that it will rubber-in," said Huff. "We don't have much running here, and there is a lot of material, pollen, white fluffy seeds and other things, floating in the air which has been blown off from the neighbouring fields."

James Nash repeated his third position from the opening session in his Arena Ford Focus S2000 TC. The Briton was 0.065s faster than free practice one pacesetter Pepe Oriola's Tuenti Leon. Spaniard Oriola's first session effort remained the fastest time of the day, four tenths quicker than Menu's practice two benchmark.

ROAL BMW driver Tom Coronel headed the timing screens at the midway point of the session. The Dutchman later joined Oriola in running into the gravel at Turn 6, but held on to take fifth place.

Aleskei Dudukalo was the highest-placed Lukoil SEAT runner in sixth, while team-mate Gabriele Tarquini beached his Leon in the gravel at Turn 13 on his final lap and was 10th.
