Markus Pommer quickest in second Formula 2 practice at Portimao

Markus Pommer set the fastest lap of the weekend so far as the track dried and drivers switched to slicks for the second Formula 2 practice session at the Algarve circuit in Portugal

Having endured a difficult opening round at Silverstone, the German driver continued his form from Thursday's test session to run towards the top of the order for most of 45 minute practice.

Where Mihai Marinescu and Alex Fontana struggled in the first practice session, they recovered to set the second and third quickest times respectively, despite a trip through the gravel for Marinescu halfway through.

Matheo Tuscher continued to show impressive pace, running in fourth, just ahead of morning pacesetter and championship leader Luciano Bacheta.

The surprise of the session was Parthiva Sureshwaren; the Indian driver ending up sixth quickest, ahead of David Zhu and Christopher Zanella, while Daniel McKenzie and Kevin Mirocha completed the top 10.
