Facu Regalia leads second Auto GP practice at Valencia

Facundo Regalia set the pace in Auto GP's second free practice session at Valencia on Friday afternoon. The Argentinean, competing on his Campos Racing team's home ground, recorded a fastest time of 1m24.586s

Joint championship leader Adrian Quaife-Hobbs (Super Nova) ended the afternoon just 0.023s shy of Regalia in second. The Monza victor headed the timesheets midway through the half-hour session.

Dutchman Daniel de Jong was third quickest for MP Motorsport, ahead of Quaife-Hobbs' Super Nova team-mate Victor Guerin.

Pal Varhaug, who leads the drivers' standings with Quaife-Hobbs, confessed to being slightly out of sorts during Thursday's test. The Norwegian topped the times in the opening minutes of second practice, before ending the afternoon in fifth for Virtuosi UK.

MLR71's Sergio Campana completed the top six, ahead of Russian Sergey Sirotkin. Euronova charge Sirotkin has a busy weekend in store, as he is also competing in the Italian Formula 3 race.

Series debutant Yann Cunha took 13th for Ombra, the Brazilian finishing two places above fellow newcomer Sten Pentus (Virtuosi UK).

Auto GP tyre supplier Kumho has made available a second, softer, compound of tyre at Valencia, having delayed its introduction at the opening round of the season at Monza. Most drivers are expected to use a set of soft tyres in qualifying, which follows practice on Friday afternoon.
