Alain Menu responded to his exclusion from the feature race qualifying to secure pole position for the sprint race in the one-shot showdown

feature race polesitter Tom Kristensen was second, whilst Yvan Muller was third in the top Vauxhall.

Feature front row man Matt Neal failed to record a quick time, and will start from the back row alongside Mark Lemmer, who failed to set a lap at all.
