Kurt and Kyle Busch to share car in NASCAR Nationwide Series
Kyle and Kurt Busch will share driving duties in a full-time NASCAR Nationwide Series entry for Kyle Busch Motorsports this season
The brothers, who have one Cup championship and 47 victories at NASCAR's top level between them, will split the second-tier Nationwide schedule as the younger Busch's team steps up from the Truck series.
"Since debuting in NASCAR, Kyle Busch Motorsports has had the goal to add a championship-calibre Natwionwide Series team to our organisation," said Kyle Busch, who leads the all-time win list in the second-tier series with 51 victories.
"With this announcement, we've accomplished that goal. Kurt and I share the same desire and will settle for nothing less than winning a championship."
Kurt, the 2004 Cup champion, will also make some Nationwide starts for his Cup team Phoenix Racing. But he said that the chance to race for his brother's outfit was too good to pass up.
"Kyle has done an impressive job in building this team and I'm proud to be a part of it," he said. "He won a Truck Series owners' championship in his first year and his team has kept on winning ever since.
"Now, it's moving into the Nationwide Series, where the bar will remain high. His expectations are the same as mine, and we know each other better than anyone. We'll be a tough team to beat."
