Disappointment at Jordan

Heinz-Harald Frentzen normally stars in unpredictable weather situations, but the Jordan star could only manage tenth today. He had been very fast in practice and was looking good for a top five spot after his first run.

However, he was unable to get a clear run when the track conditions were at their best, first being blocked by Jos Verstappen then not getting past the flag in time in the last minute scramble.

His team-mate Jarno Trulli managed to improve to sixth in the final seconds.

'It's bordering on being acceptable,' Jordan grimaced. 'Jarno did a good job because he did his second lap when it was just starting to rain and still got seventh at that stage.

'But I know Heinz is very disappointed, especially with Jos Verstappen, who held him up on his quick lap. A driver who is just starting a quick lap should get out of the way of a driver who is already on one, but Jos didn't do that and Heinz is mildly furious.'

In worse conditions last season, Frentzen snatched a late pole position at this track then led the race until retiring with electrical failure.
