F3 Euro Series abandons non-DTM support races for 2012

Each round of next year's F3 Euro Series will support the DTM, according to the championship's 2012 calendar, which was announced on Friday

The Euro Series stated in October that the 2012 season would be contested over seven DTM rounds plus two additional events with other championships; having supported the Le Mans Series as well this year.

However, it has now decided to run its full season on the DTM package, starting at Hockenheim on April 28-29 and ending at the same circuit on 20-21 October.

The only DTM track not to host the Euro Series is Brands Hatch, meaning that for the first time since 2005, the championship will not visit Britain.

A pair of two-day, pre-season tests have also been scheduled, for Valencia on March 17-18 and Barcelona on March 21-22. There will also be a mid-season test, which will take place at an unspecified venue and on an unspecified date.

F3 Euro Series 2012 calendar
