Knock Hill Sprint Qualifying Report
The Fords were dominant in qualifying for the Sprint Race at Knockhill, with series leader Alain Menu heading a clean sweep of the top three positions
He beat team-mate Rickard Rydell to the top spot by just 0.040s, with 0.4s covering the top nine cars.
Feature race polesitter Gabriele Tarquini could only manage fourth this time out, while the weight penalised Vauxhalls continued to struggle, Yvan Muller and Jason Plato only eighth and ninth quickest.
Several runners hit problems and were unable to complete qualifying runs, including two thirds of the class B field in the shape of Alan Morrison and James Kaye.
The only Super Touring driver in trouble was Vincent Radermecker, who failed to set a time in his Vauxhall Vectra.
