Jerez testing: Thursday AM 11th May
Alexander Wurz underlined Benetton's recent upturn in form during testing at the Jerez circuit in Southern Spain this morning
The Austrian was quickest, ahead of McLaren test driver Olivier Panis. Benetton continued to try out young hopeful Giorgio Pantano (see separate story) who added 19 laps to the 12 he completed yesterday.
Ralf Schumacher was third quickest for Williams BMW, followed by compatriot Heinz-Harald Frentzen in the Jordan.
BAR switched from test driver Patrick Lemarie to F3000 driver Darren Manning, who fits in testing duty with the team around his racing commitments. The Englishman was 12th overall, with a time of 1m26.949s, some two-and-a-half seconds behind Wurz, on his 24th lap of 35 this morning.
It was Manning's first run in the car for two months.
