Craig Lowndes wins again in second leg of Queensland V8 Supercars event

Craig Lowndes completed a highly successful day at Queensland Raceway by adding race two victory to his earlier pole position and triumph in race one

Winning the opening leg of the two-part Saturday event had given Lowndes pole for race two, and he made the most of it to lead throughout, shrugging off an early safety car prompted by several opening-lap incidents.

Triple Eight took a one-two finish, with Lowndes' team-mate Jamie Whincup moving into second on lap one and staying on the leader's tail to the end.

Tim Slade was unable to repeat his race one runner-up spot, but kept the Triple Eight cars within range as he collected a second podium of the day in the James Rosenberg/Stone Brothers Ford.

Rick Kelly's Kelly Holden was fourth again, with Steve Owen holding off Steven Johnson and Greg Murphy for fifth.
