Fabio Onidi tops second Auto GP session at Donington Park
Fabio Onidi led a Lazarus 1-2 in the final practice session at Donington Park as he edged out team-mate and morning pacesetter Fabrizio Crestani by just over 0.2 seconds
Times fell throughout the dry 30 minute session, and after several changes of the lead Onidi looked to have sealed top spot with a 1m17.462s effort.
Crestani displaced him within a lap however, shaving five hundredths of a second off the benchmark, before a final flyer from Onidi returned him to the front, 0.2s clear of his team-mate.
Samuele Buttarelli made it in all-Italian top three as he edged out Britain's Jon Lancaster by just 0.01s.
Lancaster's Super Nova team-mate and championship leader Luca Filippi was less than two hundredths down the road in fifth, while Adam Carroll was the final driver to dip under the 1m18s bracket as he clinched sixth on his debut weekend in Auto GP.
Holland's Daniel De Jong was the last driver within a second of Onidi's benchmark as he finished seventh fastest, ahead of Adrian Campos Jr - returning from a two month injury break following a heavy shunt at Monza.
Kevin Ceccon, leader in the Under 21 classification, was only able to complete two laps before going off at McLeans and ended up 15th fastest as a result, just over four seconds down.
