Tomczyk: Lausitz win was easy

The 29-year-old German moved into the lead of the championship after taking his second win in a row for the Phoenix Audi team, and now has a one point advantage over Mercedes driver Bruno Spengler, who had led until the first pitstops.

"From the time I passed Bruno, I just drove my speed and it was pretty easy to drive the car," said Tomczyk.

"It was just so consistent. I could do lap-by-lap the same times and just be quicker than anybody else. I really loved it.

"It was the easiest victory I've had so far. I just went with my car and drove the race. Right until the end I had nothing to complain about."

Tomczyk's Lausitz victory was the first at the circuit for an Audi driver since Mattias Ekstrom's triumph in 2005. It was also the first time that a driver had won back-to-back races in an old-spec car in the DTM.

He is also confident of continuing the form that has resulted in three appearances on the podium from the four races held in 2011 at the Norisring next weekend.

"I don't like the circuit," he added. "But I know I'm going to be fast there. I hope I can break it like I did in 2003, but we have to go there and see what we can do."
