Elias gets 2011 chassis for Barcelona

Toni Elias will get a 2011 chassis for this weekend's Grand Prix of Catalunya, hoping it helps him take a step forward after a difficult start of the season

The reigning Moto2 champion has struggled to get the best out of his Honda, with traction issues having hindered his chances of good results in recent races.

The Spaniard is down in 14th in the standings with just 17 points in four races.

Elias says he is not feeling added pressure for racing at home, and is hopeful of taking another step towards the front in Barcelona thanks to a new chassis.

"Honestly my situation is not the one I was expecting for my home race but I am not worried about that," said Elias. "I do not feel the pressure: I just want to continue my progression trying to fix the bike step by step.

"In the last three rounds we have found some small improvements but my overall package is not perfect yet so we will continue our set up work to take a step further on my home soil.

"I want to thank Honda for their support so far and for the new 2011 chassis they gave us for this weekend. I will do my best to obtain the best result for me, the team and my fans."
