Frustrating day for Jordan

Jordan team-mates Heinz-Harald Frentzenand Jarno Trulli both retired from the San Marino Grand Prix with gearbox problems as their promising grid positions came to nothing

Frentzen, third in Brazil two weeks ago, lasted just six laps and Trulli's Imola jinx continued as he came tantalisingly close to a points finish when lying seventh with three laps to go before his car failed him.

"I never seem to have any luck at Imola. I've never finished a race here," said Trulli.

"I got to sixth at one stage and was running without incident right to the end when I suddenly lost fifth gear."

"At least there are plenty more races to go where we can be strong."

Frentzen was higher up the field but his race didn't last long. "This was not a good day for us. The gearbox problems started after just four laps."

"I only had sixth so I had no choice but to come into the pits," he added.

Team boss Eddie Jordan was not too pleased. "After the boost we got in Brazil this was particularly disappointing.

"We now have to get our thinking caps on and come back stronger for Silverstone which will be Jordan's 150th race."
