Button frustrated at early retirement

Jenson Button's miserable San Marino Grand Prix ended in retirement after

just six laps.
The 20 year-old Williams BMW driver had climbed two places from 18th when he
was forced to pull off the circuit with smoke trailing from his engine.

"The rear locked up at the second chicane, there was smoke out the back and it felt like the engine but I can't say for sure until the engineers have a look at it," he said.

"It's a shame because I think we could have had a good result here. I know I
was only 16th but that was before the pit stops and things would have got a
lot better for us after them.

The young Briton had struggled to come to terms with the circuit all weekend
and was affected by mechanical problems which limited the time he had in the
car.

"I learned a lot this weekend but I would have learned a lot more if I had
still been out there to the end.

"I've not had many laps this weekend.

"Now I'm looking forward to Silverstone and hopefully we can get a good
result there."
