Montezemolo delighted with his drivers

Ferrari president Luca di Montezemolo says he is delighted with his drivers Fernando Alonso and Felipe Massa, admitting they are the least of his problems

"The only problem that I don't have is the drivers," di Montezemolo told reporters during Ferrari's winter retreat in the Dolomites.

"I'm very happy with my two drivers and I don't want to say who is the best driver in the world, but I know who he is."

The Italian also insisted seven-time champion Michael Schumacher is still one of the best drivers, despite the German's difficult season last year.

He said he was not surprised to hear Alonso say that Schumacher is the main threat for the season ahead.

"I'm not surprised, this is good for you, for your newspapers," he said. "I'm sure somebody else will say Hamilton, or Vettel. This is good, but let's wait for the first race of the season.

"Michael is part of my heart, he's part of my life. He's a very important part of the Ferrari history. I'm one of the few people in the world who have no doubts that he is a fantastic driver. We will see."

Di Montezemolo also predicted a very close season, with at least three teams fighting for wins.

"I can see a very competitive season. For sure at least three competitive teams, maybe four, I don't know for sure," he said.

"We have a new generation of drivers. I think Rosberg had a fantastic season. He is intelligent and quick. And to be quicker than Michael Schumacher all the time is the best proof. There can be different reasons, but I look at the times.

"Vettel is another very clear example of the new generation of drivers. I think that there are other drivers that if they have a competitive can be good. Rosberg is for sure one of the best of the new generation of drivers."
