Wilson rejoins MSR for Daytona 24

All three drivers have become regulars in Grand-Am's showpiece season-opener, with Wilson having twice finished second, including in 2006, when Allmendinger was among his team-mates in MSR's #60 car. Last year Wilson was leading for Ganassi until he made a late pitstop in the belief that the car had developed a problem.

"This is just one of those races that you want to win, and for me, having been so close before, I am especially motivated to get to the top this year," said Wilson. "I think racing for Mike [Shank] with this driver line-up is a great opportunity to do exactly that.

"Michael Shank Racing has always been strong in this race, and I think we've got an excellent opportunity for a good result again this year. Having known Michael and AJ for so long will only help as we are all on the same page and can get straight down to work in Daytona."

Allmendinger added: "I've been telling Mike that I am not going to stop trying to win this race until we get to the top, and hopefully we can do that this year. Mike Shank runs a great team, and this race is what his entire organisation is all about.

"I can't even describe how much I want to win this race. Getting so close the first time out, and having led it as much as we have only makes me want it that much more. This is a great chance to do that with this team and driver line-up, so I'm very excited."

MSR is also entering a pair of Riley-Fords, one for Marc Goossens, Oswaldo Negri, John Pew and Michael Valiante, and the other run in collaboration with United Autosports to field ex-Formula 1 drivers Mark Blundell and Martin Brundle alongside Zak Brown and Mark Patterson.
