Senna fears 2011 F1 hopes are fading
Bruno Senna has admitted that his chances of remaining in Formula 1 this year are fading, after his former HRT team confirmed he was definitely not part of its plans for 2011
HRT has opted for Narain Karthikeyan for one of its seats, and is considering a number of options for his team-mate - but Senna is not one of them.
And with only a few open seats remaining in F1, Senna reckons that things are looking hard for him - especially with teams requiring drivers to bring money.
"The situation is a bit difficult in F1 right now," Senna told Reuters about his F1 plans. "I didn't really have the opportunity to show what I could do last year because of various problems and that didn't help me for this season.
"We are in talks for the few opportunities that are still open but I can't say it's very easy at the moment. Even Nico [Hulkenberg] is struggling to find a competitive seat.
"We may see some talents wasted because of the current situation. I hope I can take any opportunities that are available... you never know."
Senna's former HRT team-mate Karun Chandhok is also looking for opportunities in F1, and has been most strongly linked with a reserve driver role at Team Lotus.
