Q & A with Andros Trophy organiser

Former French rallycross champion Max Mamers has organised the annual Andros Trophy series for the last 21 years. He shared his thoughts on the 2010-2011 season with AUTOSPORT

Q. What are your thoughts on how this year's series is shaping up?

Max Mamers: It is an exceptional season, even if I say that almost every year. We have two Formula 1 world champions participating; even if they're not current. Moreover, the Trophee Andros Electrique is really growing into a major series.

Q. How do you feel Jacques Villeneuve will adapt?

MM: I have no anxiety for Jacques. These drivers are exceptional. He is already in the top 10 and very fast. If he works a little then he is going to win a race.

Q. Is there anything you can do to help Villeneuve's acclimatisation, or will you leave that to the Skoda team?

MM: Well, I encourage Jacques Villeneuve because he deserves it. I admire his commitment.

Q. Why is the Stade de France hosting the final again but not regularly on the calendar?

MM: The Stade de France event requires enormous organisation. To bring 700 tones of ice is like moving a mountain to Paris. The Olympics are not annual. We copy the very big events by being rare.
