Kubica: Webber or Alonso for title

Robert Kubica believes the title fight is now between Mark Webber and Fernando Alonso, despite the fact that five drivers are still mathematically in contention to win it

Webber has 220 points to Alonso and Sebastian Vettel's 206, while Mclaren's Lewis Hamilton is on 192, Jenson Button 189.

And while Vettel's Japanese Grand Prix victory placed him equal on points with the Ferrari driver and less than the points scored for a third place behind his Red Bull team-mate Webber, the Pole still thinks it will come down to just two drivers.

"I think Red Bull is the favourite [for Korea], but it might be closer to the other teams here," he said. "Some parts of the tracks will suit Ferrari and others McLaren, but Red Bull is still the favourite."

Asked about the championship, he replied: "It's between Webber and Alonso. It's three races to go and I would say they have a better chance in my opinion, but I might be wrong. Normally when you point out two, the third one wins!"

Kubica explained that while Renault's development of its R30 has practically stopped now, the focus being principally on 2011, he was still optimistic of his chances of a strong result in Yeongam.

"I think the focus has been on next year for quite a long time," he said. "Our last update was Spa with the F-duct. It helps you with this long straight here. We were very happy in Spa, and the effort that was made to build it in the factory and that it delivered a 100% on the track. I think that was the biggest development of the year was the F-duct.

"We started the season pretty strong on low-speed corners and lacking in high speed corners, but lately, in Suzuka we were very competitive in high-speed corners. I hope so.

"We need to have a balance. What you are looking for when you are developing the car is that it brings you maximum performance on all types of tracks. This might be a good track good for us here, as so might Brazil. It's difficult to judge."
