RBR denies Korea demo an advantage

Red Bull Racing boss Christian Horner has rubbished suggestions his team gained an unfair advantage for the forthcoming Korean Grand Prix by running a show car at the venue

Karun Chandhok completed the first laps of the new Yeongam circuit in a Red Bull Racing machine for a promotional event for local media last weekend.

And although the venue was in a far from finished state, there have been some mutterings from rival outfits that Red Bull Racing could have gained some extra insight about set-up for the October race.

Horner reckons that such fears are misplaced, however, and insists his team took 'absolutely zero' knowledge away from the run.

"It was close to a six year old car with a V10 engine - especially derived for running show car projects - with a very basic telemetry system, on a track that was missing its final surface and kerbs, with a driver that isn't our regular driver," said Horner.

"It was purely a demonstration run for our new partner LG and Red Bull South Korea. The car has absolutely zero relevance to what we are running here. It would have been the same if we had run a GP2 car."
