Hulkenberg hopeful on Williams upgrade

Williams driver Nico Hulkenberg is hopeful the upgrade his team will introduce for Singapore will help the British squad close in on Renault

"It looks promising," said Hulkenberg of the update at Monza. "There's a new floor and front wing and it should give us a couple of tenths. But as always the other teams are working as well.

"I hope that we can stay in the top 10 on pace and close the gap to Renault and Force India."

The upgrade Williams will take to Singapore will be the last one this year, with the team having shifted its focus to the 2011 car.

Hulkenberg said he is unsure about what to expect from his team at Monza, given that it was not too strong at Spa two weeks ago.

"It depends a bit what our wings do - if we are quick enough on the straights which we weren't quite enough in Spa, that's the key for here," he said.

"But talking to Rubens, because I don't have much experience here, he said that if you have good braking stability in Monza you can still be quick even if you are down on the straight."

The German rookie denied the Cosworth engine was to blame for his car's lack of top speed, claiming it was the whole package.

"I don't think it's a weakness of the engine, it's the whole combination of the car and aerodynamics as well. I don't blame the Cosworth for lacking top speed."
