Sutil plays down podium chances

Adrian Sutil has played down his chances of repeating Force India's pole position and podium at Spa last season, after finishing today's practices in fifth and second places

The Belgian circuit is the team's strongest, but Sutil is not expecting to match Giancarlo Fisichella's 2009 performance, despite his strong showing in today's wet sessions.

"Today was a good day but you don't get anything for Friday," Sutil said. "Last year it was amazing, this year is a little bit different - the other teams are much stronger on the circuit so it's closer. But still it's a good car here and good enough hopefully to score some good points.

"I think the podium is a bit too far away. If it comes I will be super happy but I don't expect something like that because it's a hard fight. Any points finish is good. Of course you are aiming more than 10th place, probably fifth or sixth is my aim for the weekend. To do the same result as last year is going to be a very difficult one, there are a lot of very strong teams out there."

Sutil believes the efficiency of the Force India's aero package is the reason the team performs so well at low-downforce tracks.

"It's very efficient here," he said. "It's still very good in a straight line, very high top speed. We improved the downforce in the corners and there is probably a little bit more drag but it's still very efficient. I think the only difference to last year is the other teams are a bit stronger so it's closer.

"In all the conditions I was very competitive. The car felt good, we didn't change too much - just reacting to the conditions out there. We are in good shape I think for tomorrow."
