McLaren eyes first points of 2000
McLaren will be hoping to kick-start its Formula 1 season as the Grand Prix calendar moves into Europe
This Sunday's San Marino Grand Prix marks the beginning of the European F1 season and could also be McLaren's first chance to score some points.
David Coulthard finished second in the Brazilian Grand Prix, but was stripped of his six points after his McLaren was deemed to have an illegal front wing.
Coulthard's team-mate Mika Hakkinen is also looking for his first finish of 2000 following a fruitless opening two races.
The double world champion, who is targeting his third successive title, is 20 points behind Michael Schumacher and knows nothing less than a maximum points from Imola will be enough.
Meanwhile, Ferrari travels to the first of its two "home" Grands Prix hoping to maintain it good early-season form.
Michael Schumacher leads the championship with 20 points - as he seeks Ferrari's first title for 21 years - while Rubens Barrichello has six points following a second place at the opening race of the season in Australia.
