Priaulx claims second Brands victory

Andy Priaulx scored his fourth win of the World Touring Car season in Sunday's second race at Brands Hatch

The Guernseyman had quite an easy run to victory once he regained his lead from BMW team-mate Augusto Farfus on the third lap. But Farfus was taken out of the equation at the front by a clash with Alain Menu.

The Brazilian made a flying start to jump from third to first, but Priaulx took the place back at Druids on lap three. Menu tried to follow Priaulx through on the inside, but Farfus closed the door and Menu tagged and spun the BMW. Farfus rejoined in the pack, but Menu retired in the pits with a bent steering arm.

Colin Turkington took advantage of their clash to move into second place, and the lead independent shadowed Priaulx for the duration of the race.

The SEATs of Gabriele Tarquini and Tom Coronel came through to third and fourth, but didn't have the pace to challenge either BMW ahead.

Chevrolet drivers Yvan Muller and Rob Huff were next up, with Huff offering no resistance as team-mate and championship leader Muller breezed by on the run to Hawthorn.

Norbert Michelisz finished seventh, with Farfus making his way back into the points in eighth after passing Michel Nykjaer two laps from home. Jordi Gene completed the top 10 for SEAT.
