Loeb: Wet Bulgaria would be tough
Sebastien Loeb has admitted the predicted rain could make this week's Rally Bulgaria one of the toughest asphalt events ever
Having completed the recce for the Borvets-based event, the six-time world champion is looking forward to the first ever World Rally Championship round in the country - but he said rain could make the event a different proposition altogether.
"You can't compare these roads with any other stages in the championship," said Loeb. "In some places they are like the French Alps, but elsewhere it's like Catalunya and Corsica. They are fast and interesting, they are nice.
"I cannot say that this is the toughest asphalt rally I have had to learn, but certainly if the rain comes then it will be. The roads are not very abrasive, so if the rain does come then there's not going to be so much grip, that can be really tough."
After the tactical approach to the gravel rounds earlier in the season, Loeb admitted he was looking forward to a straight fight in Bulgaria.
"It's good we don't have to think about the running order at all," he said. "We can go fast from the first stage to the last. This is good."
