FOTA vows to consider fan feedback

The Formula One Teams' Association (FOTA) says it will take on board the feedback from its inaugural Fans' Forum that took place in London on Thursday - as it hinted at closer dialogue with the sport's followers in the future

Featuring a host of FOTA senior figures - McLaren team principal Martin Whitmarsh, Lotus boss Tony Fernandes, Mercedes GP engineer Jock Clear, Force India test driver Paul di Resta, and Ferrari press chief Luca Colajanni - the forum featured debate on a wide range of topics, including admission tickets, testing rules, moveable wings, safety and the transfer of technology.

McLaren team principal Martin Whitmarsh said afterwards that the forum provided the first hint of the efforts FOTA was willing to make to get closer to the sport's supporters.

"We said we had got to engage and invest time and effort into it," said Whitmarsh. "We have these events because people wanted them.

"You cannot absorb all the ideas and all the views, because no one will agree wholly, but you get a flavour and feeling of what people feel and what they care about. By listening we can slowly guide the sport.

"It has to remain the pinnacle of motor racing but we have to change it to make it more relevant."

Here are video highlights of some the discussions that took place.
