Rally GB National details revealed
The organisers of Wales Rally GB have issued further details of the all-new national rally which will support Britain's round of the World Rally Championship
The inaugural Wales Rally GB National will run on Saturday November 13 and Sunday November 14, with the national cars driving the all of the weekend stages included on the WRC round except for the Cardiff city spectator stage.
The reason for the inclusion of this new event is to offer national-level competitors the opportunity to compete on the same stages as the world stars, while offering spectators more action between the first and second run of the Welsh tests.
Wales Rally GB National will run a 255-mile route, of which 60 miles will be competitive - this includes the mixed-surface Crychan test on Saturday, which will take crews through some of the fastest gravel and asphalt roads on the Epynt military ranges.
The event is open to both national and historic drivers and is expected to attract the cream of British national rallying, with plenty of Ford Escort Mk IIs and Porsche 911s likely to take the start.
The entry will be limited to 40 crews, but that could be expanded if less than 80 entries are received in the main WRC field.
