H16: #2 Peugeot continues to lead
Peugeot's effort to defend its Le Mans crown is still on track after 16 hours
Franck Montagny has taken over the leading #2 car from Nicolas Minassian. Both he and the chasing Timo Bernhard in #9 have set some of the fastest laps of the race during the hour, the Peugeot maintaining its lead of over a lap.
"The car is very fast, but we need to look after it," said Minassian after the end of his stint.
Adrian Fernandez has been setting the fastest laps for the #007 Aston Martin as it continues to dominate the petrol racers in seventh overall.
Aston's old GT1 rival Chevrolet still holds a one-two in GT2, the #64 car leading the #63 example despite a recent brake disc and calliper change for Olivier Beretta.
In LMP2 David Brabham's #26 Highcroft HPD has been edging closer to the leading #42 Strakka entry of Jonny Kane, but is still three laps behind.
The #25 RML Lola is now third in class, thanks to a charge by Tommy Erdos and a minor delay for the #35 OAK Pescarolo.
Tomas Enge has been charging in the Young Driver Aston Martin DBR9 and has secured the team's third place in GT1. He is nevertheless many laps behind the class-leading #50 Larbre Saleen and #73 Luc Alphand Chevrolet Corvette.
Risi's unfortunate run in GT2 has continued, the #83 Ferrari having retired with engine failure.
