Rahal gets D&R seat for Iowa
Graham Rahal will drive for Dreyer & Reinbold Racing in the next IndyCar Series round at Iowa Speedway in place of the injured Mike Conway
With Conway sidelined by leg and back injuries following his horrific Indianapolis 500 crash, Tomas Scheckter had been brought back into the Dreyer & Reinbold line-up for Texas last weekend.
But the team has announced that Rahal has been recruited to take the seat in the next event.
"We are thrilled to have Graham drive for us this weekend," said Dreyer & Reinbold co-owner Robbie Buhl. "We obviously wish that Mike could be with us, but we just want him to have a quick recovery."
The squad has yet to decide who will fill in during the remainder of Conway's absence.
Dreyer & Reinbold will become Rahal's third team of the 2010 IndyCar season. Having lost his Newman/Haas drive due to a sponsorship shortfall over the winter, the American contested three rounds with Sarah Fisher Racing before driving for father Graham's Rahal Letterman Racing squad at the Indy 500, where the works BMW GT team's IndyCar arm was temporarily revived to ensure the younger Rahal did not miss the season's biggest race.
