Hamilton: Red Bull cruising in Monaco
McLaren's Lewis Hamilton believes rival Red Bull was just cruising during the Monaco Grand Prix on Sunday, and he reckons the team is miles ahead of the rest
But Hamilton is adamant that his team will catch Red Bull and give the team a much harder time eventually.
"They are still really far ahead," Hamilton told Reuters. "They have been so quick. They didn't even push in this race, they weren't even pushing.
"It's not scary, it just takes the mickey a little bit.
"They were just not pushing at all really. It was a bit too easy for them...but I know that we will catch up at some stage and then we will be racing with them and they won't be having such easy races."
Mark Webber took the championship lead on Sunday after scoring his second consecutive victory in a week, leading team-mate Sebastian Vettel home as Red Bull also moved into the lead in the constructors' standings.
Hamilton is hopeful things will be closer in the next race in Turkey, although he concedes he is not expecting a miraculous turnaround.
"Hopefully, we will be able to challenge them down those back straights," Hamilton added. "Things might turn around. The guys might find something in the wind tunnel and we'll have it at the next race.
"I'm praying every day that we do, although I doubt it will be the case, but you never know what will happen in this sport."
Hamilton finished in fifth place in Monaco and is down in seventh position in the standings after six races.
