Buemi: No qualms about driving again

Sebastien Buemi says he has no qualms about getting back into the cockpit of his car on Saturday, despite his spectacular accident in the first free practice session

The Scuderia Toro Rosso driver was pitched into the barriers at the Turn 14 hairpin after the front right upright on his STR4 failed - resulting in both wheels flying off his car.

Although the crash looked spectacular from the outside, Buemi said the incident did not feel too scary from inside the cockpit - and he was looking forward to getting back out again in final free practice.

"The track was really wide there, with a lot of run off," said Buemi about the crash. "It looked quite spectacular but from inside the car, it was not so big. Afterwards [once the car stopped], it took a bit of time to understand what happened, but it was not too bad.

"Something broke, and it happens. We've changed the [parts on the] car, and it will be fine to go out again. As a driver we don't think about it any more."

Toro Rosso came close to getting Buemi out in second free practice, but in the end it ran out of time.

"We were putting the floor back on the car. All the front was fine, but we just missed out by a few minutes," said Buemi.

"It is a bit difficult because we don't really know how the car is going. We have [Jaime] Alguersuari's data so we have to study that for tomorrow, as going into FP3 means we will have a lot of work to do, to be ready for qualifying."

One of Buemi's front wheels cleared the debris fencing and spectator banks, while the other actually went through a hole in the fence after hitting a trackside television camera position.
