BTCC unveils 23-car field for 2010

The British Touring Car Championship has unveiled its entry list for the 2010 season, with 23 cars confirmed for the series

Among the cars are two works entries each for Chevrolet and Honda, to be run by the RML and Team Dynamics outfits, two LPG-engined Arena Ford Focuses. All three outfits will be eligible for the constructors' championship.

Triple 8 Engineering has entered two of the Vauxhall Vectras it ran as works entries last year, but no drivers have been announced for the programme.

Two cars on the entry list will use the new Swindon-built TOCA turbocharged petrol engine. They are the Eurotech Vauxhall Vectra of Andrew Jordan and David Pinkney's Pinkney Motorsport-run version.

BTCC series director Alan Gow said: "I'm immensely proud of the huge efforts made by the teams, drivers and sponsors during the winter to ensure they are here, but the fact they continue to want to compete and succeed in the BTCC speaks volumes for this great championship's ability to excite, inspire and reward at the very highest level in the UK.

"No doubt, as normal, even more teams and drivers will join the championship during the course of the season - which is further testament to the BTCC as being Britain's biggest drawcard for teams, drivers and sponsors."

The BTCC kicks off at Thruxton on April 4.
