Jordan tests for Motorbase
Andrew Jordan tested for British Touring Car Championship race-winning team Motorbase Performance at Brands Hatch on Tuesday
Jordan, who was left driveless when Vauxhall pulled out of the BTCC at the end of the season, was joined at the test by former Motorbase racer Steven Kane and Renault Clio Cup front-runner Alex MacDowall.
The 20-year-old driver completed just over half a day's running, before handing his car over to Kane, while MacDowall spent the whole day in the other BMW 320si.
Team boss David Bartrum told AUTOSPORT: "It's been a good day and Andrew and Alex have really impressed me on their first times in the car.
"Obviously Steven we know all about because he raced for us in 2007, and we felt it would be very useful to put him in the car and hear from him how it has improved since he raced it last - let us know we're going in the right direction."
Kane, who spent 90 minutes behind the wheel, was pleased with the improvements made to the BMW.
"It's generally just got a lot more grip, which is down largely to the team gaining more experience with the car and understanding what needs tweaking in order to get more performance out of it," he told AUTOSPORT.
"The lap times were very strong compared to a year ago, and we did that on tyres with 35 laps on them, so I'm very pleased."
No drivers have yet been signed for Motorbase's 2010 BTCC programme.
