Ocean announces Asia line-up

The pair joined the team for the recent GP2 main series test at Jerez, and will return for the Asia Series test starting at Abu Dhabi on Friday ahead of the opening round of the new season at the same circuit next weekend.

Both drivers came out of Formula Master this year, with Leimer taking the title and Rossi finishing fourth. Ocean team owner Tiago Monteiro said that he was excited by the potential shown by the line-up.

"We liked Fabio Leimer's competitiveness and we decided to give him another experience - this time in races," Monteiro said.

"Fabio is a young talent who proved his value by clinching the Formula Master title, a series where Alexander Rossi, only 18 years old, also secured excellent results."

Team principal Jose Guedes added: "Most of the teams consider these first two races as a test, which does not mean we are not aiming high! We will put our cars in the hands of two drivers we think will be in good conditions to help us start the championship off on the right foot."

Ocean has also confirmed part of its line-up for the final main series test of the year at Paul Ricard next month, with Antonio Felix da Costa, Charles Pic, Christian Vietoris and Nelson Panciatici all scheduled to run with the team. A fifth driver is still to be announced.
