Hirvonen will not go for win in Spain
Ford driver Mikko Hirvonen has admitted he will not risk all to beat Sebastien Loeb in this week's Catalunya Rally
Loeb has won the Salou-based event for the last four years and Hirvonen admitted the Frenchman's prowess on the Spanish asphalt would be tough to beat.
Second place in Spain would leave Hirvonen needing a repeat result in the final round of this year's World Rally Championship, Rally GB, which starts in a fortnight's time.
Despite his promise of not being out to win this event, Hirvonen was out testing again on Monday morning, when the Finn added another 50 miles to the already impressive 900 miles in six days the team achieved during its Catalunya test last week.
"I'm not going to try to win this event," he said. "Having said that, if anybody is going to beat Sebastien [Loeb], it's going to be me - I can't see any of the other Citroens beating him! I am aiming for second place here.
"Having said that, Dani [Sordo] is going to be really hard to beat here, he's finished second for the last three years.
"But that's what I'm looking for from this event."
