Q & A with Adrian Sutil

Q: Force India has another upgrade this weekend and the car has gone quite quickly so far. It seems things are stepping up quite nicely?

Adrian Sutil: Yes. Friday was quite a good day. There were a few problems at the beginning of first practice, and also in the second session there was some stuff going on with the car.

But finally we could do some good lap times because I would say it was a very dusty circuit, with low grip, so for everybody it was a bit of a struggle in the beginning.

But, the lap times shows us to be really strong at the moment so I am confident that hopefully it will be a similar performance to the Nurburgring - hopefully also in the race.

Q: So you think Q2 is a definite, and maybe even more?

AS: Yes, somewhere close to the top 10 we should be able to go. But at the moment, who knows how the fuel loads are with everyone else. You never know on Friday, but at least in the Saturday morning session we should have a clearer indication of where we are.

Q: And a good feeling for you having seen so much progress at the team this year?

AS: Yes, that is the main thing right now. There is so much motivation. The car gets better and better, and we are really fighting somewhere in the midfield. That is a very different situation from the last years. It is back to racing, fighting for position and that is what it is all about.

Q: What has been the key to the team gelling so well this year? Has it been McLaren's involvement, the input of Simon Roberts, evolution of staff?

AS: Yeah, I think Simon is a very good guy, doing his work very professionally. I think everybody in the team are just doing their things.

Nobody is being controlled too much so they have their freedom to develop everything they want, and they are doing very well at the moment. We are getting good updates and we are definitely on our way to the front. Aero wise there was a bigger step this year.

Q: And you thinks points finishes are not too far away now?

AS: They are not far away. Sometimes they are close but then they prove still to be far away! Somehow it is like that.

Q: Do you feel this is the best chance you have of points then this season?

AS: It could be, yes. We have been similar in some races before on the Fridays, like in Silverstone, but we still have to confirm it in qualifying. Now it looks very well, I am confident and motivation is up. I have a good feeling for the weekend.
