The first of the five prize drives in the World Rally Championship will be decided at Rally Australia next week as the Pirelli Star scheme confirms its first winner.
The FIA's young driver development scheme is now in its second year and puts five drivers from the FIA regions in a Group N car for six WRC rounds.
Seven drivers have qualified for the Rally Australia shootout, including Chaodong Liu (China), Brendan Reeves, Nathan Quinn, Glen Raymond, Eli Evans (all Australia), Hayden Paddon (New Zealand) and Suguru Kawana (Japan).
They will compete on the first day of the New South Wales event, with the winner's approach to the media and fitness aspects of the sport being considered as much as the stage times.
The European shootout will run in Austria on September 18-19, with the African nomination coming from the Rwandan Mountain Gorilla Rally on the same weekend. The FIA Middle-East Rally Championship nomination will be the last driver to be confirmed, with the December's Dubai Rally forming the shootout for that series.
