Domenicali: Massa progress encouraging

Felipe Massa, Ferrari, British GPFerrari team principal Stefano Domenicali says Felipe Massa is continuing to make good progress in his recovery from the head injuries he sustained in qualifying for the Hungarian Grand Prix, after visiting the Brazilian at his home.

The 28-year-old, who was hit on the head by a spring from Rubens Barrichello's Brawn and suffered brain concussion and damage to his skull in the accident last month, is recovering at home after he was given the all-clear to so by doctors at the Albert Einstein hospital in Sao Paulo 12 days ago.

"Felipe is in excellent form and his recovery is going very well!" said Domenicali.

"I'm very happy about Felipe's state," he added. "The medical checks, which have been carried out over the last two weeks continue to be very encouraging."

"Now it's important to be patient and take one step at a time, without any hurry."

It remains unclear how long it will be before Massa is fit enough to drive an F1 car.

Ferrari's test driver Luca Badoer will stand-in for Massa in next weekend's European Grand Prix at Valencia after Michael Schumacher was forced to cancel his comeback due to a lingering neck injury.
