Elias baffled by struggle for 2010 ride

Toni Elias says he does not understand why his MotoGP future is in doubt after taking third place at Brno

With Marco Melandri and Marco Simoncelli joined Elias' current Gresini Honda team in 2010, the Spaniard is looking for a new ride, having already moved from Gresini to Pramac Ducati, then back to Gresini, over the last three years.

"It's strange because every year I do some podiums and every year I don't have a bike or a team [for the next season]," said Elias.

"I want to know how many riders don't get podiums and every year have a bike? People have to think a little bit.

"I'll continue to push like this at Indianapolis and we will see what happens."

He believes his riding has improved in recent weeks, and in the Czech Republic he won a long battle with works Honda rider - and Donington Park winner - Andrea Dovizioso to secure third.

"I'm really happy because in the last four or five races, we are closer to the factory riders," said Elias. "The position was not bad, but I need something like this every race.

"For the moment I'm happy, the podium was a present for me because [Jorge] Lorenzo crashed.

"The future is really tough for me. Anyway, I don't think about that, just concentrate with my team and try to do a great job."
