Q & A with Rubens Barrichello

Q. Any regrets about your outburst after the last race?

Rubens Barrichello: I've said what I said, I talked to the team, I talked to Ross, I left the circuit with my head up. I talked to Ross on the following week. You get out of the car and sometimes there is trouble. For me, it's more the trouble of leading the first 15 laps and finishing sixth. It was very frustrating.

I spoke to Ross on Tuesday and he said that he heard things that he didn't like and he said things that he shouldn't have as well. But we have a new update for this race and he wanted me perfectly straight to deliver my best. I sent a personal email to everyone in the team saying I had no personal problems with any of them. There was a rig problem and it could have happened to anyone. The team reacted very well. They know me and they know that if I have a problem with someone I go straight to the point.

Q. Will it have any effect on your chances of being retained for next year?

RB: No. I will be racing because of my talent, not because of what is happening on the outside.

Q. Was what happened to the team at the Nurburgring a sign of the pressure that's been building from Red Bull?

RB: No, it was just because we lacked temperature in the tyres. We had a different reading on the race because the temperature picked up for a bit then came down. We knew that Red Bull was doing very well, but if we had done our plan b option in Nurburgring, we should have finished second. We would not have beaten weather.

Q. Do you think it's a good thing that neither Brawn nor Red Bull have a number one driver?

RB: It is a good thing for the championship, it's a good thing for the public. Of course, some choose to have a preferred driver but at the end of the day, you want to let them fight. Until you have no mathematical chance of winning the championship, that's how it should be.

Q. What's the feeling in the team - how do you live with battling with your team-mate?

RB: It's a healthy fight. We had a really good meeting this morning talking about the whole facts of the last race and it was good. I came in with my Mr Happy t-shirt!
